A few days ago, APDC AWARDS announced the results of 2015 - 2016 annual competition, ben yeung & associates ltd. won three awards -- Hotel Bronze Award(Flower House, Zengcheng), Hotel Honorable Award(Crosswaters Ecolodge & SPA, Huizhou) and Hotel Honorable Award(181 Hotel, Hong Kong).
Asia Pacific Design Center (APDC) is a global member of International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), which is known as the “United Nations” in the Interior Architecture/Design field. Mr. Claude Bérubé is the founding president of APDC, who is also a leading figure in the international design arena, the past president of International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers and the past president of the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC). The core members of APDC are including global excellent architects, interior designers and product designers who are active in Greater China even in Asia Pacific region.
HOTEL BRONZE AWARD
Flower House, Zengcheng
On the basis of the original houses, the designer combines new and old elements, mixing modern fashion with traditional architectural style of Hakka. Thus the old houses are restored and added with new flavor of modernized architecture. Multiple open courtyards and patios, adorned with ponds and gentle landscaping, showing the architectural concepts of Hakka. The interconnecting structures create a layered effect and an experience of gradual discovery for guests, unveiling new spaces, levels and ambiances at every turning.
HOTEL HONORABLE AWARD
Crosswaters Ecolodge & SPA, Huizhou
We use raw materials from Nankun Mountain to retain the natural environment. The aerial construction is used along the mountain relief area to protect the landform. Winding pavements are designed to avoid ruining the mountain or large plants. We cooperate with Brayton Hughes Design Studio in interior design. Basically, the timber element is used to go coordinating with the architectural touch. The design of Villa, Club House & Public Area provides not only the natural experience within your reach, but also the living privacy.
HOTEL HONORABLE AWARD
181 Hotel, Hong Kong
Taking its cue from the modern and luxury design, 181 Hotel presents a wonderful visual effects. Dinning at the Sky Lounge on the 31st floor, you could enjoy the spectacular view of sunrise and sunset, and overlook the panoramic view of the city. The decoration of ceiling has been extended to the window, which looks like the canopy of banyan, making the space into magnificent and conspicuous. Elegance and modern decoration are reflected in all the guestrooms, combining refined style with ultimate comfort. The timber element brings the fresh airiness of the natural landscape into each guestroom.
